About Jane
Jane M. Gietzen
Jane is establishing her practice as a professional ICF ACC credentialed coach. She completed her certification with Hudson Institute of Coaching in Santa Barbara, CA in 2017. Working with leaders and individual contributors to become their best selves is Jane’s passion.
In addition to her coaching practice, Jane is a director of information services for Spectrum Health, a not-for-profit leading integrated health system in West Michigan. Jane has been with Spectrum Health since 1999. Prior to joining Spectrum Health, Jane worked in the transportation and transportation software businesses.
Jane studied industrial and operations engineering at the University of Michigan where she earned her BSIOE in 1983. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). In addition, Jane is a graduate of the Healthcare Executive Leadership Institute through the University of Michigan.
Jane is a Leadership Grand Rapids, Leadership Advantage and Leadership West Michigan alumni. She served as a Grand Rapids Public School Board member, holding positions as vice president and secretary, from 2008-2012. She was a member of the campaign cabinet for Grand Rapids Community Foundation Challenge Scholars. She served as a board member of the Grand Rapids Downtown Development Authority (DDA), North Monroe TIFA, Kent Schools Services Network (KSSN), West Michigan Tech Talent, an advisory member for the Center for Community Leadership through the Greater Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, member of the Montessori Advisory Council with Grand Rapids Public Schools and founding member of stageGR a performing arts organization. She is currently serving as a board member for Children’s Advocacy Center of Kent County.
Jane is known for her community service, as well as her technical and leadership skills. Her many awards for community service include being named one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan in 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. She was an Athena Award finalist in 2013 and 2015. She also was awarded the Center for Community Leadership’s Platform Champion for Diversity in 2010 and named Center for Community Leadership’s 30 Exceptional Leadership Grand Rapids Alumni in 2015.
Jane is married and the parent of two adult daughters that joined their family through adoption from China when they were infants. She enjoys long distance road biking.
