The “what” and “how” both matter!

Have you ever worked with someone who gets a lot done but they leave a wake in their path? The question I ask myself is, if I get to MY goal and I leave carnage along the way, have I REALLY succeeded and if so at what COST? That is what I mean by the "what" and the "how" both matter.

As I assess my own approach to getting to a desired result, it is important that I take an accountable stance. Accountability is an "inside out" attribute! It is continually taking stock of what I could do to get to the result needed. That means if someone else is involved whose actions are not supporting the goal, from my point of view, that I ask myself how I can help them and not point the finger of blame. Think about how much more power I have if I ask myself what more I can do rather than blaming another and being the victim.

As I am working toward a goal, keeping relationships at the center, assuming positive intent of the people involved and taking an accountable approach will get to a better overall result. This addresses both the "what" and the "how"!
